Style & Character
Henriette Rive Gauche is a stylish boutique hotel designed in country house chic style by the designer Vanessa Scoffier. It has been featured in many magazines including Wallpaper, Vogue etc. and will impress guests the moment they spot its unobtrusive and elegant French outer façade.
There is charming French décor with an underlying theme of the French sparkle. You will love the floral wall prints, color blocked walls and burnished wooden floors. A keen design sense is reflected in the hand curated trinkets, artsy lights, designer mirrors and bouquets of flowers of color along with old furniture, antiques, vintage material and lots of recycled stuff.
There is a pretty tree lined courtyard and an antique looking patio with wrought iron table chair sets and dainty table clothes….the overall ambience is delightful and restful. There are white (and spotlessly clean) floors, built in storage cubicles and minimalist furniture and the entire arrangement is meant to visually amplify the space. In keeping with a standard 3 star Parisian hotel, the rooms are small but intelligently utilized.
The privately owned Henriette offers a lovely winter garden, patio, lounge and breakfast room …all of which are unmistakably Parisian in appeal. The hotel is a hidden gem and a great value money… although this is rated as a 3-Star property, room rates almost match that of a budget hotel.
Rooms
There are 32 Rooms divided into happy single, double, small double, twin bedroom, deluxe double room, junior suite and connecting rooms. The single and small double rooms are both 11 sq.m while the double room and twin room are 15 sq.m. The deluxe double room and junior suite are 23 sq.m while the connecting rooms are the largest (25 sq.m).
Some of the double rooms have courtyard views while the rest of the rooms have street views. All rooms have pretty flowers, airy curtains and a distinctive country house touch…the color blocking on the walls makes them distinctive.
All rooms are air-conditioned (central) and have free Wi fi and direct phone lines. There are flat screen TV’s, safe, writing desk and a welcome gift. The windows are all double glazed and beds have premium bedspreads and linens. The junior suite is especially suited for a small family of 3 while the connecting rooms can accommodate 4 people (1 room with a double bed and 1 room with 2 single beds).
Bathrooms are equipped with modern fittings, toiletries, hair dryer and a bath/ shower and there are NUXE toiletry hampers. The top floor rooms are the best if you are looking for a view… avoid street facing ones if noise is an issue.

There is a standard bread basket with plain and cereal bread (gluten free options are provided). Breakfast is served in the vintage patio every morning from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. at a charge of 14 euro per person.
The hotel doesn’t have an in-house restaurant but post afternoon there is a free supply of mini pastries in the lounge. There is a small in-room service menu with tea/coffee and cookies biscuits, platters of healthy terrines, cheese and some champagne and wine variants on offer. Alcohol is only served by room service when there is a food order too. If you arrive late night then the supper menu of bread, rillettes and wine is a super option.
The absence of a proper in-house restaurant won’t bother you much as you can sample virtually every cuisine of the world nearby. On the same road as the hotel you will find Le Siroco that serves excellent Couscous and Les Frangins which whips up excellent Tartare along with Marty and Les Negociants. The nearby boulevard de Port Royal is also full of restaurants like Au Petit Marguery, Le Comptoir Marguery, Le Palais de l’inde, Mona Lisa and Yoyo Ramen. The boulevard Arago and boulevard saint Marcel are also restaurant hubs.
There are quite a few amazing wine bars nearby. The Connolly’s Corner (rue Mirbel), Paris Wine Truck and Philovino (rue Claude Bernard) are nice options.
